2x 47’ Documentary episodes

The world relies on just 12 crops and five animals for more than 75% of what we eat. But the weather is changing
and crops are struggling to grow in places they used to. What happens when we can no longer farm the food that we eat?
In episode 1 we follow the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurs, farmers and scientists across Asia as they fight
to protect the world’s future food supply. Whilst a traditional farmer in Kerala protects climate resistant rice varieties from extinction, offshore
seaweed farmers experiment with growing seaweed in warmer oceans and entrepreneurs in Singapore make instant noodles out of unusual crops.
In episode 2, two brothers in Gujarat are chasing locusts with high-tech drones. In Indonesia, a young tech entrepreneur
is empowering fishermen and revolutionising the food supply chain using a simple app. In China, a small group of scientists
have produced the first cultured pork in the world and in Singapore, cultured shrimp is about to be served in restaurants!
